In maths, Year 4 have been looking at informal written methods for multiplication. The children have partitioned a 2-digit number and the multiplied each part by the factor. They then added both numbers for the final answer. They have also been using their knowledge of multiplying by 10 to recognise related facts.

Today in year 1 we were learning about 3D shapes. We discussed what makes a shape 3D and worked hard to recognise and name them. We then tried to find some everyday objects that are in 3D shape in our classroom.

We have come to the end of our addition and subtraction unit now and we are about to start multiplication and subtraction. The children have been recapping their 2, 5 and 10 times tables from year 2 and applying their knowledge to work out the 3,4and 8 times tables practically. This is ready for the
