On Monday, our Primary Leadership Team met with volunteers from the Hope Community Centre to donate the old library books that did not sell in our ‘World Book Day’ sale.
Jacob from Year 6 has shared the experience:
“Caroline shared with us about how the Hope Community Centre helps over 170 families in our community a month. They offer:
Outreach support groups such as arts and crafts
- Meals —there is no set menu but a warm dinner waiting!
- For £4 families can receive a grocery shop worth around £30 from the Grub Hub which operates inside For children who receive free school meals
- They offer money off at trampoline parks and go-karting centres
- In the holidays, there are activity groups for children where lots of activities are offered.
I really enjoyed hearing about he amazing things they do for our community.”
We are very excited to share that the Hope Community Centre have invited a small group of children from our school to help out with the organisation of the Grub-Hub every Friday morning. What a wonderful experience for our children!
