To advance the computing curriculum and cross-curriculum use of technology in school, we now have a set of 30x BBC Micro:bits & the ability to code using the Purplemash Purple Chip app.
1. A Micro:bit is a pocket-sized, programmable computer that introduces students to the world of coding in a fun and interactive way. Its simplicity and versatility make it an ideal additional tool for teaching coding concepts to our students. These next-gen coding kits are designed to go beyond the basics.
With the Micro:bit, students can progress from simple block-based programming to more complex coding projects. The kits include a variety of sensors, LEDs, and other components that allow students to create interactive and dynamic projects, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.
The Micro:bit can also be used in other subjects, such as Science, D&T and Music: Lessons | micro:bit (microbit.org)
2. The Purple Chip app is now available on our school ipads. The “Purple Chip” app in conjunction with “2Code Purple Chip Mode” is a way of controlling an external physical device and its components from code that is written and run from within Purple Mash.
