EYFS: People Who Help us!

Welcome back to all of our parents and children. This half term we are going to be learning all about people who help us- we are going to look at the police, nurses and firefighters in particular. The children will be learning about how these people keep us safe and help us and will have the opportunity to ask questions and find out lots of information. If you would like some fun activities for your child to do at home to further their learning, then please see our topic plan on here or on Seesaw. Please do upload photos of the work your child has done at home onto Seesaw to show us the fantastic learning they are doing.

In Maths, this term we will be continuing to develop the children’s number sense. We have been impressed with how quickly the children can subitise, this means they say what number they can see without counting. They are getting really good at not only subitising dot patterns but also other more random patterns. We will be working on matching quantities to amounts and are encouraging the children to talk about the differences they notice between numbers.

In Read Write Inc your child will continue to practice their blending and segmenting skills. As we go through the term, your child may be learning new sounds or consolidating sounds if there are some they are unsure of as well as having many opportunities to write and read. Please do listen to your child read and record it in their reading diary.
