British Values at Gosford Park Primary School
At Gosford Park Primary School, British values are threaded through many of the experiences of our children.
It is the primary aim of our school that every member of the school community feels valued and respected, and that each person is treated fairly and well. We are a caring community, whose values are built on mutual trust and respect for all. This Code of Conduct is therefore designed to encourage the way in which all members of the school can live and work together in a supportive way. It aims to promote an environment in which everyone feels happy, safe and secure.
British Values encompass four key principles:
- Democracy: Encouraging active participation, understanding decision-making processes, and respecting diverse viewpoints.
- Rule of Law: Upholding legal norms, promoting fairness, and ensuring justice.
- Respect and Tolerance: Fostering acceptance of different faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds.
- Individual Liberty: Safeguarding personal freedoms within legal boundaries.
At our school, we integrate British Values into various aspects, including our child protection and safeguarding policy, anti-bullying policy, behavior policy, SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) policy, and ‘prevent’ training for staff.
