This week we have been looking at tenths, hundredths and thousandths. We have used place value charts and counters so we can represent these numbers and understand that we can exchange 10 hundredths for 1 tenth and 10 thousandths for 1 hundredth.We then compared these numbers and could see the value of each digit clearly.

This week we have been learning about length and perimeter. We have been finding the perimeter of a rectilinear shape. We used the Numicon to help us add the sides together to find the answer.

This week we have been learning about measuring mass in grams g and kilograms kg. We know how to read a scale and work out what intervals it goes up in, and we can draw a number line to help us work it out if we need to. Do you have any scales at home

This week in Maths, year one have been learning to find the difference between two numbers. We then used this knowledge to help us solve missing number problems.We used dienes, numicon and number lines to help us. We also drew part-part-whole models and bar models to show our understanding.
