Year 4 children carried out maths activities involving place value. We looked at 4-digit numbers. Children confidently made and partitioned the numbers.

Year 1 started looking at money. We looked at the shape, colour and value of each coin to help us recognise and name them. We also compared the values of the coins.

Today in Maths, Year 6 were exploring 3-D shapes. They were describing the properties of various 3-D shapes and the children cut out nets to make shapes. Tomorrow, they will be drawing their own nets from given measurements.

In maths, Year 5 have been looking at translating shapes-moving them accurately to a different position on a grid. The children have also used their knowledge of coordinates in topic to understand more about the area of the city impacted by the Blitz bombings.

We are learning how to tell the time to five minutes today ⏰ Can you practise reading the time on a clock or a watch at home?

This week in maths we have been drawing angles using a protractor. To build up our confidence (because we found this quite tricky!) we enjoyed drawing angles in whiteboard pen on our tables- don’t tell Mrs Allen! 🤫
