This afternoon Year 2 explored the word ‘density’. We made rainbows in test tubes using sugar to change the density of the water. We died each different water with food colouring so we could investigate what happened. We found out that the densest water stayed at the bottom and the less dense water stayed at the top, creating layers of colour.
