This half term Year 5 have been learning net and wall skills based around the sport tennis. Over the past weeks they have learnt their ABC’s of tennis, forehand and backhand, how to serve, the rules of tennis, sportsmanship, fair play values, amongst many other skills. All of the skills they learnt this half term finished with a round robin tennis tournament, whereby they were representing their houses individually. It was a lot of fun! Mr. Anderson frantically gathered each score of the tournament, which consisted of 5 rounds. Amazingly, the winner from class Dunlop and Phoenix both represented East house and earnt 15 dojo’s each towards their tally. Well done Year 5, the tournament was played in superb spirits and it was a joy to see how fairly every matched was played.
